Google

My favorite search engine. A useful feature is the cache link returned with each hit, allowing a searcher to see what a site looked like when Google indexed it. Try out Google Desktop which does for your computer what Google does for the Internet.

This search engine organizes your search results into clusters, grouping similar items together. It can be helpful, especially when searching for topical information. Tip of the hat to Steven Hupp who mentioned this on his blog.

Yahoo!

Yee Haw! A massive directory of URLs, categorized by topic. Search by topic, web page description, or do a full web search .

Alta Vista

One of the first full-featured search engines to hit the Net, Alta Vista is still a solid performer. Better boolean search tools here than on other search engines.

This is a search engine for professional biographies. Many of the listings come right off a company or institutional web site. There is no charge to search this resource nor to list your profile. Search on a company name and find contacts for your prospect.

Zoom Info (formerly Eliyon) is a business search engine that delivers in-depth profiles on 24 million business people and 2 million companies.

KWMap

An interesting approach to organizing the Internet. Use it like a thesaurus of related terms found on the Net.
